Highlighting Items

In order to manage items on the canvas, they must first be highlighted. When an item is highlighted it is considered in focus and any further Actions taken by the User will impact the highlighted item(s).

Single Select

To select a single item on the Workflow Canvas:

1) Switch to Select Mode.

2) Click on an item. A highlighted item will be surrounded by six sizing squares and also a black border.

3) To un-highlight, simply click anywhere else on the Canvas

Multi-Select

To select a more than one item repeat the Actions described above with your Ctrl key held down.

1) Switch to Select Mode.

2) Hold down your Ctrl Key. This must remain held down for the duration of your multi-select Actions.

3) Click on an item. A highlighted item will be surrounded by six sizing squares and also a black border.

4) Click on further items you wish to select.

5) To un-highlight items, simply click on them again.

Note: To highlight all items on the Canvas, click once on the Canvas to gain focus. On your keyboard hold down the Ctrl and the a keys simultaneously.

Drag Select Mode

Another way to select more than one item at a time is to you use the Drag Select Mode.

1) Switch to Drag Select Mode. This mode enables you to drag across the Canvas to select an area of the Canvas. All items that reside completely within the bounds of the area you create are highlighted.

2) Click down on the Canvas with your left mouse button and keep the mouse button held down. As you do this, drag across an area of the canvas. A square will appear to mark the bounds of the area you are marking.

3) Once you are happy you have covered the area of all the items you wish to select, release your mouse button. The items will then be highlighted.

4) Switch back to Select Mode.
