Launching a Job

A Job can be launched in a number of ways:

From the Asset Toolbar

When one of more assets are selected using the asset toolbar, the actions are run as jobs. These Jobs can be viewed in the Jobs section. When run in this way, the user has the option to select the priority of the job, the start time and any configuration associated with the underlying action.

In order to launch a job from the Asset Toolbar, carry out the following process:

1) Navigate to the asset that you want to launch the job from.

2) Select the action from the toolbar at the top of the page, for example Publish.

3) In the Create Publish Jobs box, select the Publish Action type, for example YouTube Publish.

4) Confirm Scheduling and Configuration Options.

From the API

Developers can create and run jobs using Ooyala Flex's API. In this context, the developer has the option to select the priority of the job, the start time and any configuration associated with the underlying action.

Note: Using the API is beyond the scope of this documentation. We recommend you read the API Guide.

Note: The owner of a job is always the user who created the job. If the job is created via a workflow instance action node, then the owner of the job is the owner of the workflow instance. In which case, the owner of the job will become the user that originally started the associated workflow instance.

From a Workflow Node

You can view jobs within workflow nodes being launched in the workflow instance screen.
