Auctions View Dimensions and Metrics

The AUCTIONS view allows evaluation of data on auction level. The following dimensions and metrics are displayed in the auctions view:

Dimensions

Dimension Description
App/Site Domain Either the application domain (for example, unicornssayapp.com) for in-app ads, or the site domain (for example , unicornssay.com) for page ads.
Adomain (Winning Bid) Advertiser's top-level domain or domains from winning bid.
Auction Outcome The outcome of the auction:
  • Cleared - Impression Served: auction won and impression served
  • Cleared - No Impression: auction won but no impression served
  • No Winning Bidder: no winning bids
  • No Bids: no bids received
  • else Not Available
Auction Type The type of auction:
  • Bidfloor price: Fixed price
  • Second price: 2nd price auction
Bidder ID Individual bidder's ID.
DSP Name Name of the DSP.
Campaign ID Campaign ID, which can be used in a lookup table to map the campaign name.
Campaign Name Name of the campaign.
Creative ID Creative ID unique identifier to assist with ad quality checking.
Creative Name Name of the creative.
Winning Deal ID ID of the deal that won the auction.
Winning Deal Name Name of the deal that won the auction.
Auctions by Deal Ids Number of bid requests by deal ID.
Deal Names Names of the deals.
Country Name Country name of the user.
Marketplace Name Name of the marketplace.
Category Name Name of the content category associated with the ad.
Publisher ID Publisher's ID on the exchange.
Publisher Name Name of the publisher.
Selection Position Indicates if the RTB ad is selected, and if so, at which selection position it is placed (directly in the ad break or as a backup ad source). The possible values are:
  • No RTB Selected: Indicates that the RTB ad is not selected in the ad break at all or that it is not an RTB ad.
  • Primary: Indicates that the RTB ad is included directly in the ad break.
  • Passback 1 to Passback 9 (maximum number of passback ad sources for a Pulse account): Indicates that the RTB ad is selected as a passback. Passback 1 represents the first passback candidate in the passback chain and Passback 9 represents the last one. Ads placed at the front of the passback chain have a higher chance of being displayed to a viewer. For more information, refer to Passbacks.
Slot Position Indicates at which ad position within the ad break the RTB ad is placed. The possible values are:
  • Not Available: Indicates that it is not an RTB ad, there is no auction winner, or the auction winner is filtered out for some reason.
  • 1 to 19: Indicates ad position 1 to 19 in the ad break.
  • 20+: Indicates ad position 20 or higher in the ad break, the maximum being 50.

It can be used in combination with the Start Delay dimension to filter on pre-, mid-, or post-roll ads. For example, filtering on Mid-Roll and selecting Slot Position 1 shows only the ads that are placed in the first position in the mid-roll ad break.

Seat Bidder The bidder behind the seat.
Seat Name Name of the seat.
Start Delay Indicates the start delay in seconds for pre-roll, mid-roll, or post-roll ad placements.

Metrics

Metric Description
Auctions Number of auctions, which is the available inventory.
Bids Number of all bids.
Bid Responses Number of bid responses.
Bid Depth Average number of non-zero bids per auction.
Cleared Number of cleared impressions, meaning auction won and impression served.
Clear Rate Percentage of cleared impressions. The total number of "cleared - impression served" auction outcomes divided by the total number of auctions.
Impressions Number of served impressions.
Fill Rate Percentage of won requests for which an impression is served/delivered.
Clicks Number of click events based on the presence of a click record.
CTR The click-through rate.
Wins Number of auction wins (winning bids).
Video Skipped Number of times a video was skipped.
1st Quartile 25% completion rate.
2nd Quartile 50% completion rate.
3rd Quartile 75% completion rate.
Video Completed 100% completion rate.
Win Rate Win rate percentage for the bidder. The total number of impressions a bidder has won divided by the total number of impressions the bidder has bid on.
Avg Winning Bid (Currency) Average best bid for the selected auctions. Will be determined using the bid price from the auction summary records when a win notification record is also received.
Revenue (Currency) Amount charged to the DSP customers. This field may be passed in the impression, click, or conversion record.
eCPM (Currency) Price per thousand impressions.
Spend (Currency) Amount charged to the buyer/DSP.
Avg Clear Price (Currency) Average auction clear price (second-highest price for second-price auctions).
Unique Users Number of total unique users.
Passback Selections Number of winning RTB bids that are included in the ad response as passback candidates.
Passback Selection Rate Percentage of winning RTB bids that are included in the ad response as Passback Selections.
Primary Selections Number of winning RTB bids that are included in the ad response (excludes passback candidates).
Primary Selection Rate Percentage of winning RTB bids that are included in the ad response as Primary Selections.
Total Selections Number of winning RTB bids that are included in the ad response in any form.
Total Selection Rate Percentage of winning RTB bids that are included in the ad response in any form.
Execution Rate The percentage of Primary Selections that result in an impression.

Bids View Dimensions and Metrics

The BIDS view allows evaluation of data on an individual bid level. The following dimensions and metrics are displayed in the bids view:

Adomain Advertiser's top-level domain or domains.
App or Site Application or website calling for the impression.
Bidder ID Individual bidder's ID.
DSP Name Name of the DSP.
Bid Response Status Indicates validity of responses.

Bid Status Indicates winning and failed bids.
  • Won
  • Lost on Price (a normal loss)
  • Below Floor
  • Markup Delivery Failure: missing markup or win notice URL in the bid
  • Unscreenable: did not send the minimal attributes to make it screenable by sellers, such as “iurl”, “adomain”, and so on.
  • Blocked by Publisher: creative blocked through Creative Review UI or buyer seat not allowed
  • Unverified Creative: publisher requires human review of creatives and this creative has not yet been reviewed
  • Blocked Advertiser: advertiser domain in the bid is either in the marketplace's domain blacklist or not in deal's domain whitelist
  • Blocked Content Category: violated the block list of content categories
  • Blocked Creative Attribute: violated the block list of creative attributes
  • Blocked Advertiser by clash protection
Campaign ID Campaign ID, which can be used in a lookup table to map the campaign name.
Campaign Name Name of the campaign.
Creative ID Creative ID to assist with ad quality checking.
Creative Name Name of the creative.
Deal ID ID of the deal.
Deal Name Name of the deal.
Country Name Country name of the user.
Marketplace Name Name of the marketplace.

Metrics

Metric Description
Bids Number of all bids.

Impressions Number of served impressions.

Vast Errors List Specification

VAST Error Description
XML Parsing Error An error in the XML of a third party VAST ticket was found.
VAST schema validation error The third party VAST ticket contains data that is in violation of the VAST schema.
Trafficking error Video player received an Ad type that it was not expecting and/or cannot display.
Video player expecting different linearity The video player expected a different linearity.
General Wrapper error  
Timeout of VAST URI provided in Wrapper element An error occurred when retrieving a third party URI. Timeout of a VAST URI provided in Wrapper element, or of VAST URI provided in a subsequent Wrapper element. Includes request errors such as invalid URI, unreachable or request timeout for URI, and security or other exceptions related to requesting a VAST URI.
No Ads VAST response after one or more Wrappers. No VAST response after one or more Wrappers.
General Linear error The video player is unable to display the linear ad.
File not found Unable to find Linear/MediaFile from URI.
Timeout of MediaFile URI Unable to retrieve the media file within the designated time.
Couldn’t find MediaFile supported by video player Could not find a media file that is supported by the video player, based on the attributes of the MediaFile element.
Problem displaying MediaFile The video player found a media file with a supported type according to the attributes of the MediaFile element and was able to retrieve the file, but could not display the media file. MediaFile may include: unsupported codecs, different MIME type than indicated in @type attribute, unsupported delivery method, and so on.
Start Ad Timeout The ad did not start playback within the specified time. Default timeout value is 4 seconds.
Total Passback Timeout Total passback timeout. VAST Wrapper chain did not result in an InLine ad before timeout expired.
