Working with Closed Captions

You can add closed captions to videos, ads, remote assets, or YouTube videos.

Supported Formats

Extension Description
.TTML (formerly DXFP) TTML (Timed Text Markup Language file. Generally, a closed caption file will have a .dfxp (Distribution Format Exchange Profile) extension. For details, see DFXP (now TTML) Format for Closed Captions.
.SCC SCC (Scenarist Closed Caption) file.
.SRT WebSRT (Web Subtitle Resource Tracks) file.
.VTT WebVTT (Web Video Text Tracks) file.

Upload Closed Captions

[PUT]/v2/assets/asset_id/closed_captions<dfxp_file_content>

Get Closed Captions

[GET]/v2/assets/asset_id/closed_captions

Delete Closed Captions

[DELETE]/v2/assets/asset_id/closed_captions

Examples

This example adds closed captions to the IzNnllMjphu2XF3_UgPROoCi9B2rtWs asset:

Backlot returns a 200 response.
